Matt’s Kitchen
backInformal and cosy, Matt’s Kitchen offers a warm and relaxed environment with a simple set menu consisting of a single ‘dish-of-the-day’ along with a selection of starters and desserts. The kitchen is in Matt’s own house and must be booked in advance. When you visit, expect comfortable surroundings and an amazing atmosphere that reflects the vibe of the venue, which was once Matt’s sitting room.
Matt is a self-taught chef who has been serving sensationally tasty food for over 10 years in Bruton, and his blue and gold restaurant has many 5* reviews. Don’t expect him to hide behind the scenes – you’ll see him moving through the room, explaining flavours and dishes, and generally being a fantastic host.
“The disarmingly friendly Matt has created a modishly down-home experience… refined but approachable, representing the sensitive visionary’s ability to add a twist to something old and make it appeal to a whole new generation.”
“Matt Watson is one of the handful of early adopters that defined the Bruton scene… and all of Somerset has been clamouring to get in ever since. These days he’s as likely to be feeding Hauser & Wirth artists as locals who drift down the high street.”
Matt’s Kitchen offers a unique experience with a set menu, and only takes bookings in advance. Seasonal and fresh food is at the heart of the menu, and nothing goes to waste. Don’t forget that this is a bring-your-own-booze restaurant with no corkage, so visit Farm Shop across the courtyard from the farmhouse for tasty drinks to take with you!
The kitchen is open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6.30 pm to 10 pm with a set menu priced at £40 per person. All dietary requirements can be catered for if mentioned at the time of booking. Remember to book in advance.
